IBM 18P9234 200/400 GB LTO 2 SCSI LVD BARE DRIVE ONLY for the IBM TotalStorage Ultrium Tape Library 3582L23 and 3582F23.The IBM 3582 Tape Library offers a high-capacity, high performance entry-level tape library system to meet a wide spectrum of backup, archiving, and disaster recovery needs. Basic configuration offers one IBM Ultrium 2 tape drive and 23 cartridge slots for an available capacity of 4.8TB of data (9.2TB with 2: 1 data compression) and data transfer rates up to 35MB per second using 200GB Ultrium 2 tape cartridges. An optional second IBM Ultrium 2 tape drive can be added. Two-drive configurations support partitioning of the library into two logical libraries using patented multi-path architecture. The IBM 3582 Tape Library offers 2 gigabit per second switched fabric channel, LVD Ultra160 SCSI, or HVD Ultra SCSI interfaces to attach to a wide spectrum of open system servers. Two-drive configurations support two drives of the same or differing connectivity types. The Library can be configured as a standalone desktop unit or can be mounted in an industry standard 19-inch rack. Other optional features include control path failover and a remote management unit/specialist for remote library management. Appropriate levels of host software are required to attach the Ultrium Tape Library 3582 with IBM LTO Ultrium 2 Tape Drives to selected IBM eServer iSeries, AS/400, IBM eServer pSeries, RS/6000, RS/6000 SP, IBM eServer zSeries Linux, Sun, Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Linux, and other UNIX and PC servers.
